Microsoft has announced a significant initiative to modernize its Redmond campus. this project will include new construction with the addition of 18 new buildings on the East Redmond campus, creating 2.5 million square feet of new office space.

Today Microsoft has 125 buildings on Redmond campus. When this project is complete, the main campus will be comprised of 131 buildings — including the equivalent of 180 football fields of new and renovated space — of modern workspace for the 47,000 employees who work there every day, plus room to expand operations and add up to 8,000 more people.

This multi-phase project demonstrates Microsoft's ongoing commitment to its global employee base by offering te best environment to work, with flexible spaces that improve collaboration, concentration and privacy, across all regions where it do business.

Its also commits its future to the Puget sound region and connection to the local community is a fundamental element to the design approach for the campus.

This project represents a significant investment by the company, will involve roughly 2,500 construction and development jobs, and will take five to seven years to complete
